Implicated judges must seek Rawlings and Kufuor's intervention

The Spiritual Leader of Prophets and Spiritual Churches Council, Nakoa Nazareth Ansah Jamson is advising 34 judges, implicated in the judicial corruption scandal, to seek the sympathy of former presidents Rawlings and Kufuor to beg the Chief Justice on their behalf.

He believes the intervention of the two statesmen would touched the heart of the Chief Justice Georgina Wood, whom he described as compassionate, and Ghanaians in general to show them mercy.

Speaking in an interview with myjoyonline.com, Nakoa Jamson however said the judges would first have to stop arguing and challenging the exposé in court. Rather, they should accept their mistake and commit to conduct themselves in a manner that would not bring the judiciary into disrepute again.

The biggest scandal to have rocked the judicial system yet, captured 12 High Court judges and 22 Circuit Court judges and Magistrates taking bribes to subvert justice. The video by ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas revealed that these judges and about 100 court officials and police officers allegedly conspired to take bribe and set criminals free.

Days after the news about the humiliating exposé broke, the servant of God appealed to the Judicial Council to pardon the embattled judges and magistrates.

The New Crusading Guide newspaper reported that one of the implicated judges, who believe Anas is a spirit, has confessed to taking the bribe and pleaded for clemency.

The judge who does not want to be named said “I have confessed that I took the money because I am afraid he may use the spirit to kill me”.

Nakoa Jamson who is also General Overseer of the Israel King of Jews Church said most of the judges have learnt their lessons and would therefore be difficult to corrupt them in future.

“I always preach acceptance. I pray that they should accept that they erred, stop going to court to argue their case and apologise,” the Spiritual Leader charged the beleaguered judges.

“I appeal to the Chief Justice to show them leniency once they admit their fault,” he pleaded.

“Even if Satan see God as supreme - that you are the Lord and there is no any other God - and begs him for forgiveness, his sins might be forgiven,” he intimated.
