FONAA Seeks Justice For Adams Mahama

Friends Of Nana Akufo Addo in the United States (FONAA-USA) have called on the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Paul Afoko to step aside to allow for a holistic internal investigation into the fatal acid attack on Adams Mahama to be carried out.

This was contained in a statement released by the grouping and signed by Aisha Salifu, Coordinator of FONAA.

'In spite of the ongoing investigation, after assessing all the happenings in culmination with other dynamics and the fact that Paul Afoko's brother has been overtly fingered in the entire criminal act, FONAA institute-USA is of the strongest view that the honorable thing for the National Chairman of the NPP to do is step aside' the grouping said.

FONAA offered to provide foreign investigators should the need for it arise

The grouping expressed condolences to the bereaved family, the party in general and the good people of Ghana.

The murder of Adams Mahama the Upper East Regional NPP Chairman FONAA said ' marks one of the dark times in the history of Ghana and FONAA Institute-USA condemns this barbaric, gruesome, heinous act of cowardice in the strongest possible terms following the news of the untimely and unfortunate death of Mahama Adams'.

The government and security agencies the statement stressed should 'as a matter of urgency put in place thorough and precise investigation into the issue so that perpetrators of the crime face the full rigors of the law' describing it as a national security threat if it is not handled well.

The grouping asked that the party should regardless of the ongoing police investigation conduct its own private inquiry as an alternative means of getting to the bottom of the matter.
