CPP protests today, demands return of seized assets

Members of the Convention People's party will later Tuesday morning picket at the Obra Spot in Accra to protest what they say is injustice inflicted on the party and Ghanaians in general.

The party is demanding a return of buildings and other assets seized from it after the coup that overthrew Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's government.

Today marks exactly 49 years since the coup.
Members are also asking government to deal with the current hardships facing the country including the energy crisis and economic challenges.

Ernesto Yeboah, Deputy Youth Organiser of the party told Joy News, “we will be taking the opportunity to draw the attention of the nation that what we have been doing wrong all this while is to be consistently voting for the NPP and the NDC thinking and believing that they would be resolve that confront us, unfortunately they are not.”

A pro-Nkrumaist group, the Socialist Forum will later today hold a forum to mark the day.
