Axim: NDC youth shut down party office…to demand funds from MCE

Some irate youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Axim in the Western Region have locked and barricaded the party office to register their displeasure against the Nzema East Municipal Chief Executive, James Atta-Kakra Baidoo for withholding funds meant for them after working for the party.

According to the angry youth, several efforts to retrieve their monies from the MCE have proved futile.

The youth suspect the MCE of diverting funds meant for them into the construction of a 32-bedroom house, as well as paying for funeral expenses.

The Constituency Secretary, King Philip on Adom FM's Midday News said “they always want to take us for granted but this time around, we will not allow the MCE to treat us this way.

“We are therefore, demanding his immediate dismissal because he does not think about the welfare of his people,” he added.

However, Mr Atta-Kakra Baidoo has denied all the allegations leveled against him.

“The accusations they are leveling against me are false. I am not building any 32-bedroom house. It is rather a 4-bedroom house and I did that solely from my own pocket. I have not embezzled any money too.

“The money they are accusing me of embezzling is even not with me,” he said on Adom News.
