Namibia's ruling party wins election landslide: official

Windhoek (AFP) - Namibia's ruling SWAPO party won national elections with an overwhelming 80 percent of the vote, official results showed Monday.

SWAPO candidate Hage Geingob was declared president-elect by the election commission.

"I have the honour and privilege to declare Geingob... duly elected as the winner," electoral commission chairwoman Nontemba Tjipueja announced.
