MARCH ON KOFI ADAMS FOR VICTORY IS NEAR

I usually don't like engaging my fellow party members in media banter as the outcome is always not pleasant and opens the party to public ridicule as well as gives the opposition NPP the ammunition to attack us.

However, recent developments in the party have given me the cause to worry hence the decision to write this piece. I have been compelled to take the hard decision because what is going on is nauseating and if not checked can have devastating effect on the electoral fortunes of the party come 2016.

Ever since Mr. Kofi Adams declared his intention to contest for the position of the National Organizer, he has known no peace as there have been numerous publications that sought impugn on his integrity, loyalty and commitment to the party on radio, in the print media as well as the social media.

Having disqualified him from contesting the Buem seat to be the Member of Parliament under bizarre circumstances following the death of Hon. Kamel Ford one would have thought that Mr. Kofi Adams would be left alone. But that was not be, as the same persons who schemed to get him out of the contest for the Buem seat are at it again.

This time they want to ensure that Mr. Adams does not get the nod as the National Organizer of the party in the upcoming congress. They have therefore set in motion a destructive agenda that will ensure that the man who is seen by the grass roots as one of the leaders who could match the New Patriotic Party boot for boot is not given the mandate to lead the party to victory in 2016.

These individuals have decided to embark on a vendetta to destroy Mr. Adams because they see him as a threat to their selfish and egoistic ambition to be the shot callers in the party. To such people Mr. Adams' inclusion in the second highest decision making body of the party will mean a clampdown on their destructive ambition to ensure that the party does their bidding.

Others have also decided to that it was time to exact their pound of flesh hence their destructive onslaught on Mr. Adams.

This bunch of nation wreckers started by collaborating with National Democratic Party (NDP)to malign Mr. Adams with claims that he was the brain behind the formation of that party. These hoodlums went ahead to cast aspersions and invectives on the Deputy General Secretary.

Their effort did not yield any result as the man continued to enjoy massive support from the grass roots that see him one of their own. Thus the more they heap the insults on him the more his support base rose.

Having realized that their sinister and despicable collaboration with the failed National Democratic Party to throw mud at Mr. Adams has back fired the faceless goons who have now been unmasked have now resorted to the use of arm twisting tactics to coerce the delegates to vote against him.

One such act was the distribution of leaflets by supporters of his opponent Yaw Boateng Gyan at the Brong Ahafo Regional Delegates Congress. The leaflets sought to portray Mr. Adams as a hypocrite who does not have the party at heart.

Their plans however failed when a leading member of the party who caught the hoodlums distributing the leaflets to delegates quickly collected them and reprimanded them. When the media contacted Yaw Boateng Gyan he denied knowledge of the activities of his supporters. His assertion was challenged by the leading member.

Not surprisingly, the General Secretary who was always accusing Mr. Adams of peddling false hood against also denied that such an incident happened.

Prior to that incident some leading members of the current executives who have now been exposed are said to be in cahoots with some constituency executives in the Central region. Recently they met some of the executives at Cape Coast and it was decided that everything possible must be done to ensure that Mr. Adams lose the upcoming national executive election.

This writer can authoritatively state that a number of executives who were obviously won over with cash that was flaunted before them have therefore decided to embark on ominous machinations and manipulations to ensure that the Spokesperson of former President Rawlings does not win the National Organizer position at the National Delegates Congress.

Their fear is that should Mr. Adams be elected as the National Organizer of the party, it will mean the coming back of his boss the former President Rawlings whom they have struggled so hard to silence.

However, their diabolic intentions have now been exposed.

The expose' has obviously not gone down well with grass root supporters who claim that they will not sit down for all the hard work to be rundown by the divisive activities of those leading members of the party who sit in the comfort of their homes and drink champagne while they (the grassroots) toil day and night to get the party to power.

One thing l will like to draw delegates' attention to is the fact that the NPP now has a very formidable team that is made up of a very formidable youthful squad that includes the likes of Kwabena Adjepong, John Boadu, Sammy Awuku among others.

The party will therefore need a very strong and fearsome team to match them boot for boot. This is where Mr Adams fits in as a number of NDC supporters see him as the antidote to the NPP's vile propaganda which if not checked early enough could be detrimental to the government and to an extent dim the chances of the party in 2016.

A number of the party's supporters have become disappointed with the party leadership over their inability to carry them along but have rather been detached resulting in the leadership moving in one direction and the supporters moving in another direction.

The result is that there is a growing spate of apathy among party faithfuls in areas that are considered the world bank of the party. There have been several reports of party faithful rising up against their leaders over what they claim to be the neglect on the part of the leadership.

There is therefore the need for a very vibrant organizer to reinvigorate the youthful exuberance of the teeming supporters of the party so as to channel their energy into mobilizing the grassroots to victory come 2016.

'The only source of hope to the youth of the party as well as well meaning party supporters is to elect Mr. Adams as the National Organizer of the party. He is seen as one of the faces that youth and the grass roots see and see hope and development for the party and the nation'. The source added.
