Don't run away, harvest what you planted - NPP identifiable groups taunt Alan

Presidential hopeful, Aan Kyerematen has been dared to challenge Nana Akufo-Addo in the New Patriotic Party's October 18 presidential primary, if he did not learn his lessons in the party's special delegates conference.

Some identifiable groups within the opposition NPP claimed Alan's determination to contest the election, despite his abysmal show in last Sunday's conference, exposes his real motive in the party.

Mr Kyerematen managed only 7.9% of the votes against Nana Akufo-Addo, who secured 80.7% to overwhelmingly beat the other candidates.

“If the election does not make him to wake up from his own slumber and self-delusion but to continue to delude himself of his 'magic floating voters', then he must be questioned of his real motive of contesting this race. If you fail to reason with your people, you suffer public shame and disgrace,” Chris Arthur, President of STUNNAD summarised the views expressed at a meeting of leadership of the identifiable groups in the NPP in the Ashanti Region, held at the regional party office on 2 nd September, 2014.

Former DCE of Amansie Central Kwame Asamoah Boateng who chaired the meeting remarked: “Alan should not stop; he must eat his cooked yam.”

The meeting was held to thank the various groups for their contributions during the limited voters' registration and also their unflinching support for Nana Akufo-Addo for his resounding victory in the special delegates' conference.

The groups included STUNNAD (Students' Network for Nana Akufo-Addo), NPP Scoreboard-Tafo, NPP Famous- Adum, Nafop, Tescon –KNUST, Free Education Prayer Group, Vibrant Ladies, The Three Northern Regions Supporters, Winners' Ladies NPP Fun Club, National Volunteers for NPP, NPP Osono mma Kuo, and Danquah Busia Fun club.

The leadership of the groups was asked to unite and work together to ensure a resounding victory for Nana Akufo-Addo in the forthcoming presidential primary. Their target is 90 per cent.

“We should make it known to the public that we are solidly united for Nana Addo. There is no division or conflict in our party. It is only about 59 people who do not like the current direction of the unity,” Mr. Kwame Asamoah Boateng noted.

The group leaders also requested a meeting with Nana Akufo-Addo in Kumasi before the October 18 th primary.
