Let's not play into the hands of our opponents - Alan cautions NPP leaders

Aspiring flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party, Alan Kyerematen has cautioned the leadership of the party against  playing into the hands of their political opponents ahead of the 2016 elections.

The decision by party Chair, Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong to relieve serving officers of their positions have caused an uproar in the party with its headquarters witnessing nasty incidents Tuesday.

An ongoing news conference by the two leaders of the party was disrupted by thugs thought to be angered by latest decision directing Acting Communications Director, Perry Okudzeto to proceed on two year's accumulated leave.

The leadership has been divided by some decisions taken by the two gentlemen.

Mr. Kyerematen in a statement on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 cautions: “Now is not the time to engage in blame games in other not to play into the hands of our opponents and lose focus of our greater goal of winning power in 2016”.

“I am deeply saddened by events at the NPP headquarters on Tuesday when some people invaded a press conference being addressed by the party Chairman, Mr. Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Mr. Kwabena Agyepong.

“The altercation that ensued disrupted the meeting and has caused a lot of worry to party members across the country.

He therefore called on party members and the national executives to use laid down rules and regulations to resolve any misunderstandings "to ensure our forward march to victory 2016."
