1,360 Ashanti Regional Voters Have Case To Answer

A total of one thousand, three hundred and sixty (1,360) registered voters in the Ashanti Region are facing inquisition on their citizenship and wrong personal data supplied at centres of registration.

According to EC Deputy Regional Director, Mr. Steve Opoku Mensah, special district registration review committees had been established to ascertain whether or not they are truly Ghanaians. Others are to explain why the information they supplied had problems.

Mr. Mensah who was speaking in an interview with the paper in Kumasi disclosed that the committees started their work in May and are expected to end by close of June.

He gave the breakdown as Ahafo Ano South recorded 453, Oforikrom sub-metro, 205, Asawasi sub-metro 181, Ahafo Ano North, 127; Adansi East recorded one, whiles Amansie West, three and Adansi South three.

Mr. Mensah said those found to have flouted the law would be severely dealt with in accordance with the law.
