Old Fadama is a national security risk

Eviction of Old Fadama, popularly known as Sodom and Gomorrah is long overdue. The sprawling slum at Agbogbloshie, which is said to be home for nearly 40,000 squatters, has become a center for hardened criminals, sexual abuses and most recently, fire outbreaks. The area is a national security risk and should be pulled down.I have also come to the conclusion that a delayed epidemic bomb is ready to explode there due to the poor environment the people are crammed into. The settlement has appalling sanitation.

There is no sewage or running water.Drains with liquid waste are criss-crossing in front and through people's homes.Sharing a common border with the Korle Lagoon Ecological Restoration Project, the fringes of the lagoon is used by both adults and children as a place of convenience as if it is officially demarcated for such an activity. Are these not good enough reasons why Sodom and Gomorrah should be erased from the map of Agbogbloshie? The authorities must act now to save the country.
