Nagar Baul James, A living folklore hero in Bangladesh

Faruq Mahfuz Anam James of Nagar Baul, His Tory, and His Excellence is the first Psychedelic singer in Bangladesh. The apocalyptic performance of the 50 years old singer towards the audience made him Guru (Master) in the Rock music history in Bangladesh.

He is singer, guitarist and composer. Many lyricist and poet have written songs for James including Poet Shamsur Rahman, Lucky Akand, Prince Mahmud, Marjuk Rasel, Shibli and Deholovi.

Mainly he sings rock song and blues music but he is the inventor of his self-stylish song likely call with named Nagar Baul, which means City Folk Music of the Scientific Edge integrated with psychedelic action and apocalyptic performance.

His many songs are like Pakhi Ure Jah (O Bird Fly Away), Maa, Baba, Bangladesh, Kobita (Poem) will be made him immortal for his extra ordinary creation ever done in Bangla music history.

Many a peoples said that his “Bangladesh” Song can be the next National Anthem of Bangladesh instead of Amar Sonar Bangla (O My Golden Bengal) Written Rabindranath Tagor a Nobel Laureate in Bengal Literature.

James is also an actor, a good husband, and father of three children with first wife Rothi; two daughters namely Jannat & Jahan and a son namely Danesh. His performance in Bollywood film industries has revealed his skill in acting.

James was born in October 2, 1964 in Noagaon district in Bangladesh and later raised in Chittagong. Now he is happily married with Benazir Sazzzad whom he met during concerts in 1999.
