UN council to meet after S. Sudan's Machar fails to return

United Nations (United States) (AFP) - The UN Security Council was to hold emergency talks Tuesday after South Sudan's rebel leader Riek Machar failed to return to Juba as part of a peace deal.

The meeting, called by the United States, was expected to be held at 5:00 pm (2100 GMT) after Machar's much-anticipated return to the capital -- after more than two years of war -- failed to materialize.
