Benkum SHS rape: Five grabbed; two on the run

The Akropong Divisional Police Command have arrested five persons in connection with the gang rape of a student of Benkum Senior High School in the Eastern Region.

Public Relations Officer of the Domestic and Violence Support Unit of the Police Criminal Investigation Department DSP Freeman Tettey told Joy News the five suspects have been charged with conspiracy and rape.

He said the police are in still searching for the remaining two.

According to DSP Tettey the suspects will be arraigned before court at Akropong Wednesday to be remanded while investigations continue.
