Most commodities hold steady

Most key commodities like maize, yam, imported rice and cassava also traded flat this week. Wheat, local rice and groundnut however recorded some noticeable shifts in key markets. Wheat went down 17% (from 2.40 to 2) and 14% (from 2.85 to 2.45) in wholesale and retail trading respectively at the Kumasi Central market. In the Agbogbloshie market groundnut prices went up slightly; 13% at both the wholesale and retail levels of trading. A similar story was recorded in the Hohoe market where groundnut trading went up 8% in wholesale trading and 7% in retail trading. Local rice went up 29% in wholesale trading (from 1.40 to 1.80) and 33% in retail trading (1.50 to 2.00) in the Agbogbloshie market.
