'Kaletor title will motivate me'

After some paramount chiefs and traditional leaders from the Volta Region installed come back IBF bantamweight champion, Joseph Agbeko, as Torgbe Kaletor (Brave Warrior) in Sogakope a few weeks ago, he has responded by saying that the gesture will motivate him in his future endeavours.

Speaking to The Chronicle Sports   in an interview last Tuesday, he revealed that: 'The chieftaincy title will go a long way to motivate me.

It means I cannot go into the ring and lose my title just anyhow.'

The 30-year-old boxer added that: 'It is a great honour done me, and I will go the extra mile to conduct myself as the title Kaletor (Brave Warrior) demands of me. I really appreciate it.'

Agbeko reclaimed his International Boxing Federation (IBF) title from undefeated Columbia champion Yohnny Perez last month on a unanimous point decision in the US.

Consequently, Dr Bernard Glover, the Volta Regional representative on the Council of State, together with some paramount chiefs and traditional leaders from the Volta Region conferred the honour on Agbeko, in a special ceremony  in Sogakope a few weeks ago.
