THE ACTING Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Prosper Kwame Agblor, has confirmed in an interview with  The Chronicle yesterday that the National Democratic Congress Women's (NDC) Organizer, Anita De-Sosoo and her driver have officially written their statements to the police, a fortnight ago.

According to him, the docket containing their statements was submitted to the Attorney-General's Department last Thursday for onward advice. He was, however, tight lipped about its content.

The Women's Organizer was accused by some executive members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) of allegedly ordering her driver to run over a group of NPP supporters at Abomosu, during the recent Atiwa by-election.

Three kingpins of the NPP, Messrs Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, party Chairman, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, General Secretary and Frances Essiem, a party member, were recently invited by the police for allegedly raising false alarm during the said election.

Their invitation to the department was based on a formal complaint lodged by a pressure group, calling itself the Media Analyst Group of the NDC, to have the three NPP stalwarts investigated, for alleging on radio that three NPP supporters were killed on the orders of the NDC Women's Organizer.

Also, they were accused of making public statements to the effect that the Anita De-Sosoo had killed 4 people, which according to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) sought to cause unnecessary fear and panic.

The Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) also lodged a formal complaint at the Nima District Police station recently, for the urgent arrest of Dr. Kwabena Adjei, Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who according to the group, made treasonable utterances to cause fear and panic within the judiciary.
