Alan denies formation of new political party

Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has denied any involvement in the formation of new political party in Kumasi. The following is full statement released from his office yesterday.

The office of Mr. Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen denies in the strongest possible terms any association with a purported new political grouping, allegedly being formed by individuals who were supposedly linked to his campaign, to become the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party in the recent Presidential Primary of the Party.

The office condemns in the strongest possible terms any attempt by    anybody to disrupt the united front of the NPP in its quest for power, come 2012.

In that regard, Mr. Kyerematen has already disbanded his campaign apparatus and is holding himself in readiness to fully campaign with the Party, under the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Moreover, he is on record to have advised all who sacrificed in support of his campaign to sacrifice even more for the success of Nana Addo, which will be a victory for all true adherents of the NPP.

In these trying times, the office of Mr. Kyerematen pleads with commentators to be circumspect in reacting to the rumours. This is in view of the fact that it may be in the interest of persons outside the NPP to discredit processes within the party, aimed at maximising our collective resources towards victory 2012.

Mr. Kyerematen remains totally committed to the cause of the NPP and wants to urge all party members to act as one family in order to protect and secure the interests of the Party and the nation at large.

Signed:
Yaw Buaben Asamoa
for the Office of Alan Kyerematen
