Tema Motorway median fence being destroyed

The Tema file has noticed that the metal pillars of the median fencing on the Accra-Tema Motorway are been cut and stolen by thieves.

This results in the wire fence becoming weak thereby allowing pedestrians to lift up the fencing and pass underneath to cross the motorway from one side to the other.

According to a taxi driver, Paul Lartey, the habit of people crossing the road has resulted in some being knocked down by vehicles.

Also, the absence of streetlights has worsened the situation, and encourages the thieves to still these pillars, while some even attack people who try to cross the streets at night.
