Diplomatic sex in court
DAILY GUIDE can confirm that award-winning investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, is lacing his boots for a legal battle in which he has been sued over a publication that suggests that the Working Girl Wellness Centre, a health spa near the Labone Coffee Shop in Accra, was offering sexual services to male customers who are allegedly, members of the Diplomatic Corp.
Kweku Baako Media Limited, owned by Malik Kweku Baako, Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, was also roped in the suit.
Despite claims by Anas that he has a video recording to prove his story, owners of the health spa have filed a defamation suit against him and also filed an interlocutory injunction to restrain him from any further publication of the story.
A copy of the said video recording, which DAILY GUIDE sighted, had the erected genitals of a man supposed to be a top diplomat in Ghana, being stimulated and fondled smoothly by a young Ghanaian lady allegedly at the Working Girl Wellness Centre.
In the video, the said Diplomat was heard muttering: “oh Hannah my girl...oh Hannah...” as he whispered other inaudible sounds while the lady smoothly stroked his elongated penis.
The lady, who was being referred to as 'Hannah' in the sex video, skilfully masturbated the alleged diplomat till he reached orgasm and shot out sperms on his stomach and thighs.
The video also captured the diplomat cleaning the sperms with tissue paper after 'Hannah' had left the room.
In her statement of claim, Evelyn Ankumah, a director of the health spa, said the video recording in question is an ingenious fabrication and that the story is utterly false and calculated to disparage her.
Evelyn Ankumah, a lawyer who holds diplomatic status in Ghana and is the Executive Director of African legal Aid; a pan-African NGO, claimed further that the story gravely reduces her standing in the international community and exposes her to contempt, ridicule and scorn.
She alleged that Madam Baaba Obeng, owner of the Labone Coffee Shop and landlady of the premises in which the health spa is situated, had inspired and instigated the said publication.
Madam Ankumah claimed that Baaba Obeng had persistently boasted that she will cause the “downfall” of Working Girl Wellness Centre.
Interestingly, Anas says he is not the least bothered or ruffled by the suit.
“I do not just put out stories and I do not claim to have a piece of evidence if I do not have it; I am ready for the suit and I believe the truth shall be made known in the courts,” Anas told DAILY GUIDE yesterday, adding that his lawyers were yet to file a response. Kweku Baako, in his comments on the matter, said he stands by the story and that Madam Ankumah's decision to go to court is her constitutional right.
Hearing is slated for Tuesday April 7, 2009.
