Ayuba makes CHAN referees list

Referee Haruna Ayuba has been selected to officiate at the African Nation Championship (CHAN) which starts in Ivory Coast on Sunday.

The Tamale-based official is the only referee from Ghana among the 18 officials selected for the maiden edition by Caf.

Ayuba will work as a referees' assistant during the competition which ends on March 9 involving eight teams.

Hosts, Ivory Coast playing in Group A will get the competition underway on Sunday when they play Senegal.

Group A also includes Zambia and Tanzania who are also based in Abidjan.

Ghana, Libya, DR Congo and Zimbabwe are the Group B teams and will be based in Bouake.

The African Nation Championship is designed exclusively for players who play in their domestic leagues.
