Kadir: I Will Floor Haruna

The NPP parliamentary candidate for the Tamale South constituency, Abdul Karim Kadir, says he is well on his way to snatching the seat from incumbent NDC MP Haruna Iddrisu, in the December polls, saying his victory would be a victory for the people.

"From all indications I will floor my brother Haruna to the gallery, and he knows it.'

He hinted that his victory would represent the aspirations and expectations of the people of the Tamale South constituency and the whole region, adding that he would represent the people in Parliament to the fullest with truth and sincerity.

He accused the incumbent NDC MP of doing nothing to salvage the people from the challenges facing them saying, he could not boast of a single development in the area.

Addressing an enthusiastic crowd at a rally in Kukuo, a suburb of the Tamale metropolis, the NPP candidate, popularly known as Joe Kadir, reiterated his willingness to represent the people in parliament and urged the electorate to reject the NDC by voting for him and Nana Akufo-Addo, standard bearer of the NPP.

'Please don't waste your votes; vote me as your MP and Nana Akufo-Addo as our president. Vote the NPP because we are the only party that believes in you and Ghana.'

'The work of an MP is about the people; it"s about development of your constituency; it's about contributing to positive issues that affect the people; it's about pragmatic policies and programmes regarding the total wellbeing of the people, and this is the kind of representation I want to give you', Kadir underscored.

Mr Kadir accused the NDC of tribal and chieftaincy politics aimed at dividing the people of the north, and called on the people of the region to reject the divide and rule tactics of the NDC.

He told the jubilant crowd that soon the water problem facing the Tamale Metropolis would be a thing of the past, adding that the Tamale Water Expansion Project was soon going to be commissioned.

Also addressing the crowd, the Northern Regional Chairman of the party, Alhassan Yakubu Adoo, told the people to compare and contrast the 19 years of the (P) NDC and the NPP's eight years and see who did what and at what level.

He said, the unprecedented development that has taken place in the region under the Kufuor-led NPP administration is just the beginning, to be continued under Nana Akufo-Addo.

He called on the people of Tamale and the region to be part of the winning team and come out without fear on the election day to vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo and the parliamentary candidates of the party.

The rally was attended by the party executives including the Deputy Regional Secretary of the party, Faisal Gbangli, Tamale South constituency chairman, Alhaji Tanko, Tamale Metro Chief Executive who is also Tamale Central NPP Parliamentary candidate Mohammed Adam Amin Anta, DCE for Tolon/Kumbungu Wahad Suhiyini Wumbei who is also the Tolon Constituency NPP parliamentary candidate.
