Regional Director Of Health Services Visits Amansie West District

Alhaji Dr Mohammed Bin Ibrahim, Ashanti Regional Director of Health Services has commended management of Bonsaaso Millennium Villages Project (MVP) for initiating developmental projects in health, education, agriculture, water and sanitation in Amansie West District in the Ashanti Region to improve the living standards of the people.

Dr Ibrahim was on a day's working visit to the district after assumption of duty. Other areas visited include four clinic complexes constructed and renovated under the project at Manso-Tontokrom, Aboaboso, Watreso and Datano.

Mr Homiah Mensah, Science Co-ordinator of MVP who conducted Dr Ibrahim round the project site said the objective of the project is to reduce poverty and hunger among people in the cluster area.

He said the project has since its inception two-and-half years ago improved the living standards of the people and farmers have been trained to plant improved cocoa seedlings.

Mr Mensah said in addition, they have provided treated mosquito bed nets to reduce malaria and all the people in the 30 communities in the cluster area have been offered free medical care during the period.
