Yamoah Ponkoh vows to fight RPD

The dismissed Operations Director of the Reformed Patriotic Democrats, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh is to challenge the leadership of the party over his dismissal.

The outspoken Operations Director of RPD was suspended and eventually sacked by the party chairman, Kwabena Agyei also known as "Bambata" for allegedly holding secret merger talks with the National Democratic Congress without the authorisation and knowledge of the leadership of the R.P.D.

However Yamoah Ponkoh is challenging the legality of his dismissal saying all the allegations leveled against him are untrue and unfounded. "I have never engaged the NDC in any secret merger or alliance talks and whoever has any evidence to the contrary must provide it. I have done nothing wrong", he insists.

The leadership of the R.P.D meanwhile claims to have incontrovertible evidence about the allegations that have been leveled against Yamoah Ponkoh and maintain the decision to dismiss him from the party was legal and accordance with the party's constitution.

Until he joined the R.P.D as a founding member and its first Operations Director, Yamaoh Ponkoh was a staunch member of the ruling New Patriotic Party and was even contemplating contesting the Subin constituency parliamentary seat on the ticket of the NPP.

He had been on several radio stations in Kumasi defending the policies and programmes of the NPP in the past and it is not clear whether he would rejoin his mother party.
