Human rights groups to demonstrate against 44 Ghanaians killed in Gambia

The African office of the Commonwealth Human Right Initiative, CHRI, will organize a march in Accra on Wednesday, 12th March 2008 in memory of
44 Ghanaians and six other African nationals reportedly killed in July,
2005 in the Gambia.In a statement issued in Accra CHRI said, the objectives of the march is to remember the victims and raise awareness on the plight of their families who have gone through difficulties and frustrations. The march will commence at the premises of the Africa Office of the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative through some principal streets of Accra and end at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The statement said, it is expected that community stakeholders, civil society organizations and the media will participate in the march.
