Driver killed in accident

A driver of a Nissan Pick-Up belonging to Twin Rocks Quarry in Accra died on the spot, when his vehicle with registration number GT 8445 P was involved in an accident with an articulated truck in front of the Galaxy Oil Station near Winneba Junction last Saturday.

The Winneba Police said the body of the unidentified driver has been deposited at the Winneba Government hospital mortuary for autopsy, while police investigations continue.

The police said the articulated truck with registration number GT. 3231 R loaded with sugar was heading for Accra while the pick-up was from Cape Coast. The police said this is the second accident recorded in the area in the past two days. In the first accident which occurred near Gomoa Mpota last Friday, one person was killed and 20 others received various degrees of injury.
