Government To Rehabilitate Roads In Asante Mampong - Sarkodie

Mr Peter Abum Sarkodie, Member of Parliament for Asante Mampong on Thursday announced that government has awarded 13.4 kilometres of roads in the township to two contractors for rehabilitation.   The project expected to be completed within 18 months would cost Five million Ghana cedis.
   
 Mr Sarkodie was addressing the Sekyere West District Assembly's first meeting of its third sitting at Mampong-Ashanti.   The assembly in a communiqué read by Mr Rockson Agyemang, Presiding Member expressed gratitude to President John Agyekum Kufuor and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for elevating the district to a Municipal status and creating Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo District.
   
 It said the new development had been a long cherished desire of the chiefs and people in the area.   The assembly was optimistic that the elevation and creation of the new district would make positive impact on the development agenda of the area.  It said a new BMC skip-loader had been acquired to improve on sanitation delivery.
