President leaves for Senegal

President John Agyekum Kufuor left Accra on Tuesday morning for Senegal to attend the inauguration of President Abdoulaye Wade.

Mr Wade has been elected for a second term.

Some ministers of state and government officials accompanied President Kufuor.

Lt-Gen J.B. Danquah, the Chief of Defence Staff and the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Patrick K. Acheampong, saw him off at the airport.

President Kufuor returns home on Wednesday.
