GRA/SML Contract: It takes some 'wild' boldness for a president to make this decision

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Director of Local Government Services at the Office of the President, has applauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for commissioning an audit into the GRA/SML contract, despite facing false accusations from the media.

Aboagye's commendation comes in the wake of recent revelations from the audit report conducted by KPMG, which debunked allegations levelled against Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) regarding financial misconduct.

The Fourth Estate had accused SML of various infractions, including receiving $100 million from the government.

However, the KPMG report vindicated SML, confirming that no such payment was made and that the allegations were unfounded.

Reacting to this on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show, Miracles Aboagye praised President Akufo-Addo's boldness and leadership in seeking the truth through an independent and reliable audit firm, KPMG.

"What he (Akufo-Addo) has done is a testament to the kind of person that he is...it's a lot of boldness that will make a President take such a decision.

“You need a lot of boldness, confidence, courage before you say I should give a matter of this sort to KPMG," Aboagye remarked.
