‘Was your promise to give students tablets a vote-buying ploy too?’ — Salam Mustapha quizzes Mahama

Salam Mustapha, the National Youth Organiser of the governing NPP is questioning the motives behind former President John Mahama's own promise to provide tablets to students.

He faulted the NDC flagbearer for describing the current government's One Student, One Tablet initiative as an attempt to bribe senior high school students ahead of December elections.

Mahama has described the tablet distribution as vote-buying, saying it aims to entice soon-to-be first-time voters to support the NPP.

But Mustapha says Mahama is being hypocritical, considering his own past promises.

"Has John Mahama suddenly developed amnesia too, to forget his own Regenerative Ghana project with his bosom friend Roland Agambila? Or is it just sheer hypocrisy or dishonesty?" Mustapha said in response.

Under the former NDC administration’s Regenerative Ghana project, Mahama and his officials had pledged to provide laptops and tablets to students across the country to enhance the learning experience.

The NPP youth leader now questioning whether Mahama's tablet pledge back then was also motivated more by politics than policy.
