Bawku West: I will work to justify my appointment — DCE

The newly confirmed District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Bawku West district of the Upper East region Anania Daniel Atampuba has pledged to work extra hard to justify his appointment.

Anania Daniel Atampuba made the call in his short address after he was confirmed by Assembly members. The nominee polled 46 votes out of 48 present in the voting exercise representing 96 percent at the first round of voting.

Mr Anania expressed gratitude to the President and the Assembly members for the confidence reposed in him to serve the area.

He said he believed it was through his hard work and commitment that the Assembly members gave him the support and promised to continue the good works.

Hon. Atampuba promised an open-door administration intended to bring the Assembly closer to the doorsteps of people.

“I shall reach out to all but never put down a single person for holding views contrary to mine,” he stated.

He however said despite the short period to the 2024 general elections, he would discharge his duties in line with the vision of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to ensure the needed development for the District.

Anania Daniel Atampuba is the 8th District chief executive since the establishment of the Bawku West district of decentralization and local government system.

His predecessors are Hon Sule Agholisi, Hon Moses Appiah Abaare, Hon Desmond Abugbilla, Hon Anaba Moro, Agbango Simon Ayande, Hon Victoria Ayamba and Hon Alhaji Ahmed Issahaku Tahiru
