HASAG threaten Korele-Bu CEO, Health Ministry with nationwide strike over re-assignment of members

President Akufo-Addo has been urged to call the Health Minister, the Board Chairman of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the CEO to order.

In a press statement signed by the National President of the Health Accountants Staff Association of Ghana (HASAG), Emmanuel Dennis Kofi Amoah dated 16th October 2023, the Association is questioning the rationale behind the re-assignment of five of its members without prior notification.

The Association is of the view the move by the CEO and the Ministry to move local union leaders from their current post is an orchestrated attempt to gag them and clip their wings from fighting for members of the Association.

The statement is, however, calling for the decision to be suspended within seven working days or will proceed on strike to protest for the rights of the affected members.
