Njuasco Old Students Donate to Two Orphanages in Eastern Region

The 1990 O’level year group of New Juaben Senior High School (Njuasco) have donated some items worth GHS 14,015 to two orphanage homes in the Eastern Region.

The two orphanage homes, Baptist School Complex and Orphanage (BASCO) and Christian Village Orphanage which are located in Nankese and Akwadum respectively, received the donations on Monday, April 24, in a short ceremony.

Some of the donated items include; dozens of bottled water, soft drinks, toiletries, gallons of cooking oil and bags of rice and stationery.

The foster homes, which all have hundreds of inmates, thanked the Njuasco old students for putting smiles on the faces of their inmates.

According to the president of the year group, Douglas Twum-Barima; “…there are no better times of showing love and support to orphans in the community than now. It's nice that we all put smiles on the faces of orphans in the community.”

“…the economy is so hard that even those with both parents find it difficult to meet the daily square meal at times and so how much more the orphans, the parentless, the innocent children in the community,” Douglas emotionally added.

In attendance of the donation events were the group’s president and his executive council members namely; Sefah Jones Amoafo, Henry Kofi Bakatta, Samuel Ntow, Otis Acheampong and Ernestina Ayeh Danso.

Other members of the year group in attendance were Wahid Dalen Boateng, Abraham Sackey, Nana Yaw Berchie, and Ernestina Appiah. The rest were Mildred Dompreh, Esther Ansah, Rev. Gifty Preko, Joyce Poakwa, Juliana Amoah, and Mavis Acolatse

Meanwhile, the group has urged members of the community to always help and support orphanage homes because “these innocent children are the face and future of our community."
