When will Ghana Leaders Learn?

We have a blueprint for Planting for Food and Jobs and that's Operation Feed Yourself. But we decided to ditch that for an unproven and untested scheme. It has been a total failure that's why we still import all kinds of food.

No country in the world provides free boarding schools, not even the Almighty USA, China, UK, Germany, Japan, France, and co.

Why didn't we follow their blueprint?
Whatever struggles we are going through today as a nation, were self-imposed.

We are a poor nation but we've lived our lives like we are part of the G8.

We know the solutions to all our economic problems but we've refused to implement them, simply because we can't get our cut if we implement those policies perfectly.

Free SHS is a very good policy but the government should exclude boarding. Whoever wants a boarding facility must pay for it and that will help ease the pressure on the finances of the state.

We can reduce inflation massively by going back to the Operation Feed Yourself blueprint. When that policy was practiced, the state had excess food and even exported the excesses to other countries.

Why should Ghana import food from Burkina, Niger, and Mali? All these countries don't come close to Ghana in terms of anything, maybe except leadership or a clear-cut plan. It's high time, we live as a poor nation and cut our coats accordingly.

We all know that several people in private businesses evade taxes. The president even stated how lawyers in private practice have been evading taxes. What has been preventing us from closing that loopholes?

Why are we paying people huge sums of money and several benefits and yet fail to give us the needed results? Why don't we give benefits based on performance?

NABCO, NYA, and the likes were good policies but to what end? After the program, we go back to factory resetting (unemployment graduates). Why can't we have a long-term/permanent solution to our unemployment menace?

Can we put an end to establishing further schemes and focus on the old ones by modifying and sustaining them?

Can we just have a one-time gratuity (ex-gratia) payment? Why should some class of people have retirement benefits every four years?

How many times do public and civil workers get retirement benefits? It's just once in their lifetime. So why should we treat another group of people differently?

People are getting fed up with policymakers and most above all, politicians.

We should not let the youth lose faith in the leaders and the nation at large.

Because we are creating our very image for the future of this country.

Let's help build a country the citizenry will forever be proud of.
