President Nana Akufo-Addo to bow down his head in shame if……

The president of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, must bow down his head in total shame, if indeed, he did sanction the conspicuously illegal and criminal method used to vote to confirm Samuel Addai Agyekum, his nominee, for the post of District Chief Executive of Kumawu Sekyere District.

I never thought a second in my weirdest dreams but not wildest dreams that the person I have been respecting, upholding and defending as the beacon of democratic principles for all these past years, could suddenly ditch his integrity and principles for something so mean.

Wherefore do you ever have to brood over your election 2012 presidential results where any discerning Ghanaian could attest to the fact you were robbed of victory, if you could supervise or sanction similar acts of illegalities to take place in regard to the applied modus operandi to approve Samuel Addai Agyekum as DCE for the Kumawu Sekyere District?

Are you aware that the very Member of Parliament for Kumawu Constituency, Philip Basoah (Hon), was barred from entering the premises where the third time voting to confirm or reject Samuel Addai Agyekum as DCE did take place by your heavily armed policemen? He was manhandled in a similar manner that an intercepted suicide bomber would be treated in either Iraq or Afghanistan.

Does the president condone that shameful act purposed to rob the people of Kumawu Sekyere district and constituency of their fundamental human rights, especially, in respect of their exercise of universal suffrage? Does the president know that the MP, Philip Basoah, has the right to cast his vote in approving, confirming or rejecting a nominee DCE? If yes, can the president explain to the whole nation and the world, especially the constituents of Kumawu constituency and Kumawu Sekyere district why he was denied that right on Friday, 15 October 2021?

Is the president any different from most of the Ghanaians who will break the laws without thinking about the consequences as long as it suits them in that critical period?

As I believe in action and reaction, there will surely be consequences for the deplorable action the president has supported to take place. The consequences could be good or bad, but surely, there will be, as long as the Almighty Father, the Creator of all things, continues to be Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent.

King Duncan in act 1, scene 4 of Macbeth was perfectly right when he said, “There's no art to find the mind's construction in the face." He said this when he had just discovered that the Thane of Cawdor, whom he trusted had betrayed him and subsequently executed after confessing his treason and begged the king's forgiveness.

King Duncan meant by what he said that no one can determine what another is thinking at any given moment. This is exactly how the person (Nana Akufo-Addo) that I had absolute trust for as a pillar of democratic principles, a human rights activist and an astute lawyer, has done.

The bible is true without any denying when it says in Psalm 146:3 that “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help”. Again, in Jeremiah 17:5 it says, “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord”.

I trusted the president to serve the people in fairness and justice but look at what is happening, because he is a human being and so to err is human. Whose interest is he serving by taking to that illegal method as incessantly talked about in my recent publications? Whose dirty work is he doing?

Ghanaian leaders are a total disappointment if President Nana Akufo-Addo could sanction the illegal method used to approve Samuel Addai Agyekum as the DCE for Kumawu Sekyere District. He may shrug off my concerns and I don’t blame him. However, the NPP will pay dearly for it were the constituents of the district to reflect soberly on how the NPP leaderships have always treated them with scorn.

I have videos on how the election went and with the passage of time, hopefully, I shall publish all of them.

The president is lucky to have had his two terms in office. Has he thought about his successors and how they can win election 2024, or he does not give a hoot about it? If he cares, he would not be causing public disaffection for the party by the roguish and dehumanizing method taken to confirm Samuel Addai Agyekum as DCE for Kumawu Sekyere District.

It does not belong to he who is leading to redirect their steps. Therefore, those of us following should be bold enough to tell it as it is when our leaders err.

“Obstinacy is the cause of the horns of the hornbill”. All those that I had seriously repeatedly commented about their intransigent stance when they were in higher public positions, ended up falling flat on their face in humiliation when they refused to adhere to my advice.

I advised by publication Kwabena Agyapong when he was the National Chairman for the NPP to desist from a line of action that he was pursuing, although it was suspected to be injurious to the chances of NPP winning the then impending general election. He refused to listen. Finally, he was kicked out of his post. His then bright political career has since been truncated. The same thing happened with Charlotte Osei, the Electoral Commissioner. She obstinately continued with her obviously diabolic plans. In the end, she suffered a disgrace, falling from grace to grass. Interested people can check my publications on the mentioned individuals and many more.

As a citizen but not a spectator, I shall continue to point out the president’s short-comings to him in a constructive manner. He can choose to take them or ignore them but one thing he has to bear in mind is that political power does not last for eternity. The very people he met on his way up, he will meet the same people on his way down.

I shall be highlighting this illegality and dent in the reputation of the president’s as long as measures are not taken to redress the ignominious situation.

I pray the supporters of, and radio serial callers for, NPP, residing abroad to have a look at how the voting to confirm Samuel Addai Agyekum as DCE for Kumawu Sekyere District went, to ascertain for themselves whether NPP are serious and credible democrats. They can do so by reading my recently published articles on the issue. I published the evidence as well and will be publishing the others newly come to me.

A word to the wise is enough.
