Tain: Newly constructed 60-bed district hospital begins operation

Residents in the Tain District of the Bono region could not hide their joy as the newly constructed 60-bed capacity district has been opened for full operations.

The hospital which is expected to serve people in the district and its adjourning communities has facilities such as a maintenance unit, central storage areas; water, sewage and medical waste treatment systems; a mortuary, kitchen, a physiotherapy, laundry and parking space for vehicles.

There are also four operating theatres covering different specialized areas namely a radiology department equipped with ultrasound, echocardiography, X-ray machines and a laboratory and 15units apartment for staff.

According to Dr. Emmanuel Adinkra Kyeremeh, Medical Superintendent of the facility, the hospital after the inauguration by the president had to go through various preparatory processes behind the scenes which cause the delay in operations.

He explained that all departments and services of the hospital are now fully opened to the public for use so people can have access to quality healthcare.

The District Chief Executive, Charity Akua Foriwaa Dwommoh expressed profound gratitude to the president for the facility. According to her, Seeing the facility beginning operations is a big relief to the people of district.

She charged the hospital authority to ensure good maintenance culture to sustain the lifespan of the facility to benefit future generations.

Okyeame Tawiah Aborah on behalf of Nananom of Nsawkaw Traditional Council pledge to provide Nine electricity poles whilst the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Mr. Sulemana Adama also pledge to provide Nine street lights to help provide light on the streets leading to the hospital to enhance security in the area.
