Ablakwa builds school block to reduce school under trees

Member of Parliament (MP) for the North Tongu, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has built a six-unit classroom block for a village in his constituency.

The building is to help reduce schools under trees within the constituency.

Mr. Ablakwa handed over the primary school to Morklikpo village on Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

The building forms part of moves to construct 30 schools within the constituency.

The North Tongu legislator is of the view that it is unacceptable for students to walk for long distances to access education.

According to him, that even weakens their ability to grasp whatever the students will be taught.

He has thus assured the constituents that he will do his best to remove the barriers faced by pupils within North Tongu.

“Earlier on Wednesday, I was at the holy village of Morklikpo in my beloved constituency to hand over a new 6-unit primary school to the river overbank community.”

“For this current phase, the Morklikpo school is one of some thirty primary schools under construction in very hard to reach communities as we are determined to totally eliminate the phenomenon of schools-under-trees and end the unacceptable spectacle of children walking long distances to access education. We will keep doing our best to remove all barriers to our children’s fundamental right to quality education.”
