Mental Slavery In The Supreme Court Of Ghana

I was left perplexed when a Supreme Court Judge insisted or claimed a witness, who happens to be a lecturer should wear a suit anytime coming to court.

In fact, I am left in bewilderment when Ghanaian lawyers and Judges continue to be enslaved. They, as lawyers wear suits always but is it necessary to claim that ordinary people who are witnesses or come to court wear suits? Why can't the court allow the use of Ghanaian costume? Why can't the courts use smock, Kentey etc during proceedings. Our culture which is supposed to be kept at our national level is even more destroyed by those who should support to keep it.

Our way of dressing is a key factor in determining our identity. Why not consider this at the highest level of our institutions? It is a real low key on the side of my country Ghana.

The judiciary as an organ to my opinion ought to help keep our identity sane and right and not the way of the West.

I can't wait to see the use of the African attire in the Court.
