NDC’s Christopher Beyere runs to court over Techiman South Parliamentary results

Christopher Baasongti Beyere

Christopher Beyere Baasongti has filed a petition in court over the Parliamentary election results of the Techiman South Constituency.

The Electoral Commission declared Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as the winner of the constituency.

The former Deputy Minister of Regional Re-organization and Development polled 49,682, as against the 49,205 polled by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Mr. Christopher Baasongti Beyere.

But the NDC candidate have contested the results claiming victory for himself. He alleged that the EC failed to collate the results and without any declaration.

Having consulted his lawyers for advice, the defeated NDC candidate has dragged the winner and the EC to Wenchi High Court seeking to have the results overturned.
