NPP Japan Branch Touts Akufo-Addo Achievements In Education

As we gather momentum ahead of the 2020 election, many Ghanaians have already decided to vote for the NPP government due to their track record in education.

The foundation of the biggest opposition party has been shaken to the core following the achievements chopped by the Nana Addo government.

Under four years of Nana Addo’s good and sound governance, the government has been able to achieve the implementation of the Free Senior High School Policy. The financial burden on parents has been lifted and these monies have found it way back into the pocket of citizens.

It was amazing to hear that even day students are fed each school day.

There is no government in the history of Ghana that has made such a sound and influential decision, and investment that touches on the development of the next generation than the Nana Addo-Bawumia government.

The introduction of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy by the government has increased access to secondary education, figures emanating from the ministry of education indicate that students’ population has increased by a whopping 400,000 from 800, 000. This means that we have over 1.2 million SHS students enjoying the fruits of the good and bold initiatives of the government.

The NDC government that never believed the free SHS is possible and for that matter lead a campaign in a deceitful way to throw dust in the eyes of the good people of Ghana, has been healed of their blindness and can now see that the free SHS is achievable.

They now prefer to tell Ghanaians that they can do it better. S3 kwatrekwa s3 ob3ma wo ntoma a, ey3 a tie ne din.

The NDC should be ashamed to talk about the free SHS more so to talk about doing it better than the NPP who dreamt it.

Restoration of Teacher Trainees and Nursing training Allowances has not only given parents their wards the fiscal space to use their hard earn money for other things, but it has also made the authorities in these institutions to have access to funds with ease.

It did not end there; the government has made reforms in colleges of education by introducing a 4-year Basic Education Degree to replace a 3-year Diploma programme.

Basic school students in any serious country are thought by degree-holder teachers, this achievement can only be chopped by a competent government such as the NPP government.

To further put money in the pocket of hard-working Ghanaians the government introduced a 100% absorption of registration fees of BECE candidates since 2018.

To alleviate the hash burden presented by the COVID-19, again, the thinking government decided to absorbed the WASSCE registration fees in addition to the free SHS education.

As if this is not enough, there have been massive reforms in Technical, Vocational, Education, and Training (TVET).

32 TVET schools have been renovated and retooled with an additional 3 being constructed.

To boost STEM education, the government has introduced Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at all basic education levels through the introduction of a new curriculum that could propel the nation to another height in education.

The introduction and implementation of the new school curriculum for the basic schools, JHS, and SHS have come at a time when the world is experiencing the 4th revolution whose foundation is education.

Provision of core textbooks and supplementary readers for both teachers and students at all levels put the nail on the coffin.

Infrastructure development in our schools has received a facelift as 962 SHS school blocks, over 700 Basic School blocks, and 77 kindergarten Schools have been constructed by the NPP government in the last four years.

To help reduced unemployment and equip the schools with quality teachers over 6000 teachers have joined the Ghana Education Service.

To give the teaching profession more teeth to bit and to lift the image of this important profession the ministry of education under the able leadership of Nana Addo introduced the Teachers Licensure Examination and mandatory one-year National Service.

The NPP Japan branch cannot sit unconcerned but to endorse Nana Addo's government for another 4 years.

We are urging Ghana to vote massively for this government to continue the good work.
