I did a private wedding to shield my wife from disrespect, public scrutiny — Ghanaian comedian

Popular Ghanaian comedian Foster Romanus has revealed the deliberate decision to keep his wedding ceremony private.

In an interview with actor and filmmaker, Eddie Nartey, the comedian disclosed that he opted for a private wedding to shield his wife from any disrespect and unnecessary scrutiny that often accompanies public figures' partners.

Romanus emphasized the challenges that public figures face, especially in the age of social media, where every aspect of their lives is subject to judgment and intrusion.

Recognizing the negative attention that public weddings sometimes attract, the comedian chose to protect his wife's well-being.

"Because of the attention that it comes with, and then I’ve seen a couple of weddings where people tend to disrespect your choice.

“The person you think is best for you then that person thinks what is wrong with you?

“Why this choice? I didn’t want my wife to go through that," Romanus explained during the interview with Nartey.
