Listen: Blakk Rasta flies with 'Serwaa Akoto' single

Reggae musician, Blakk Rasta and host of "Taxi Driver" on Hitz FM has released a new single titled ‘Serwaa Akoto’.

The song is a cover of the popular ‘Serwaa Akoto’ song originally made about four decades ago by legendary highlife musician, Yamoah.

According to the controversial presenter, his inspiration was taken from his 65- year-old father who played it regularly while the musician was growing up.

Also, the beauty of the lyrics caught his attention and inspired him to perform the cover in a ‘Kuchoko’ rhythm class.

“Growing up, my father liked the song very much and the lyrics caught my attention so I decided to do it in the Kuchoko class,” he said.

The single which was produced by one of Ghana’s top sound engineers, Zapp Mallet is already enjoying massive airplay.

Blakk Rasta is the host of the controversial ‘Taxi Driver’ show on Hitz Fm from 10am to 1pm every Monday – Friday.
