Etoile Sahel spoil Kotoko party

KOTOKO HIT PANIC BUTTON Asante Kotoko's hopes of top place in the Confederation Cup came crushing on Saturday after drawing 2-2 with Etoile du Sahel at Baba Yara Stadium .

The Porcupine Warriors went ahead in the 9th minute through Kwabena Yaro when slotted in from close range from a resultant free-kick.

Etoile restored parity after the break when Jedaied Slim wrestled Godfred Yeboah near the 18-yard box to beat Keeper Soulama. 

Striker Eric Bekoe put Kotoko ahead again when he expertly converted a spot kick but that was shorlived when the Tunisians also equalized via a penalty kick. 

The draw frays Kotoko's nerves of a top spot finish in Group as they face a tough task of winning away to Sudan's El Merreikh in a fortnight.

Meanwhile Algerian side JSK take on Merreikh in Tizzi Ouzou on Sunday.
