Four clubs are reported to have begun talks with Ghanaian player Anthony Obodai for a possible move from Dutch second-tier side,RKC Waalwijk.

Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen,who placed 6th last term, are said to be leading the race to sign the former Ajax Amsterdam player.

Other potential suitors are Swiss side Young Boys,German side Borussia Monchengladbach and Major League Soccer side,San Jose Earthquakes.

The 25-year-old midfielder has fallen out with Waalwijk coach Ruud Brood and was sent to train with the reserves team after criticizing him.

Obodai helped Waalwijk beat fellow Eerste Divisie campaigners,Veendam,4-1 on Saturday and officials of NEC were at the stadium to watch him.

He has struggled to find his form that made him a starter at Ajax in 2006.

Obodai was of member of Ghana's Under-17 team that won bronze at the 1999 World Cup in New Zealand and also won silver at the 2001 World Youth Championship in Argentina.
