The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana [PFAG] have pledged their support for the 2016 Vodafone Unity Cu match to be played in Kumasi and Accra.

At the Press Soiree organized by Primeval Media Consult to bring together the media and the principal actors of the game, former Black Stars striker Augustine Arhinful assured the organizers of the support of the PFAG.

'On behalf of PFAG, I wish to say that we are committed to the course being churned by Primeval Media to bring peace during the 2016 general elections,' Arhinful said.

'Football is for peace and as peace ambassadors, we will support this positive initiative to ensure the exercise is successful for our motherland to continue enjoying her peace,' he added.

The Vodafone Unity Cup match will be played on a two-legged basis in Kumasi and Accra on the 8th and 11th of July respectively.

A Stephen Appiah XI, made up international football stars will play Kumasi Asante Kotoko on the 8th of July in Kumasi and play the Black Stars on the 11th in Accra.
