With a few days to the U-20 World Cup to be staged in New Zealand, member of the Black Satellites squad, Patrick Kpozo has stated that the team is poised for action in the tournament.

According to the Inter Allies player who is likely to join AIK Stockholm after the championship the team is well prepared and would raise the flags of Ghana high in the tourney and bring the coveted trophy back home after the 2009 squad led by Andre Ayew won it.

“We poised for the tournament and yes we are going for the Gold medals for sure because we are talented and hungry for success”, Kpozo stated.

Speaking about his new club AIK Stockholm, he averred that “after the tournament I know AIK will be expecting more from me. So I will make sure to try my best to help them to achieve the goal they were expecting by God’s grace”.

He also stated on his facebook page “World Cup mood activate” with a picture of himself.

The team headed by World Cup winning coach, Sillas Tetteh has so far enjoyed a good pre-tournament, having played five games scoring 17 goals in all.

The group is arguably the group of death with Argentina having 19-year-old forward Giovanni Simeone who could bring back the glories of the late 90’s and early 2000’s of Argentina.

However, Coach Sellas Tetteh believes the Black Satellites would provide an electrifying performance in the World Cup like they did against the New Zealand select side they thrashed 9-0.

The Satellites have been placed in Group B with six times record winners Argentina who are one of the tournament’s favorites, Panama and Austria who Ghana faces on Saturday 30th May at the Wellington Regional Stadium.

The 21 man squad for the tournament which retained majority of the squad that won Bronze in the African Championship earlier this year include:

Goalkeepers: Kwame Baah (Heart of Lions), Siedu Muntawakilu (Hearts of

Oak), Lawrence Ati-Zigi (Red Bull Salzburg)

Oak), Joseph Aidoo (Inter Allies), Joseph Adjei (Wa All Stars),
