Asante Kotoko coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has issued an apology to the team ahead of their upcoming clash against FC Samartex this weekend.

The apology came after an emergency gathering convened at Manhyia on Thursday afternoon, orchestrated by the club's life patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The meeting was prompted by the Porcupine Warriors' recent string of disappointing performances in the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, with just one victory secured in their last seven matches.

Following deliberations, Ogum extended his regrets to the players and urged them to stand united as they strive to salvage a respectable standing in the league.

He also appealed to all stakeholders to rally together in revitalizing the club's fortunes.

Despite facing disruptions, including missed training sessions due to fan unrest, Ogum guided the team through preparations for their showdown against the league leaders.

The much-anticipated match is set to take place at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 15:00GMT.
