Agogo delighted over Zamalek deal
Ghana striker Junior Agogo is over the moon by completing his move to Egyptian club Zamalek despite the controversy that surrounded the deal.
The 29-year-old was unveiled at a press conference in Cairo on Thursday after signing the US$1.1m transfer.
Zamalek last week threatened to pull the plug on the deal after the Ghanaian developed cold feet over the move to Egypt.
A presidential aspirant of the club also protested over the signing of the Agogo saying it is a publicity stunt to get the incumbent Mamdouh Abbas to stay in power ahead of elections later this month.
The Ghanaian brushed aside those concerns saying he is thrilled to join the five-time African champions.
"I am happy to be finally here," the Black Stars striker said at the press conference.
"The move has been hampered several times but when we held head-to-head talks things went fast," Agogo added.
Agogo signed a three-year deal that will earn him US$550,000 per season.
