President J.A. Kufuor, posing with Kenneth Asare Bosompem, Ghana's Ambassador to Togo, after presenting him with the Letters of Credence at the Castle yesterday.

After administering the oath to him, President Kufuor advised Mr Bosompem to discharge his duties with excellence.

He said Ghana and Togo are sister states with a common border that divides the same people.

"This means that the border is porous and entails a lot of immigration and security problems and as an ambassador, you must be aware of the sensitivity of the relations between us," he said.

President Kufuor therefore, urged the Ambassador to go about his duties with that awareness and to ensure that the governments of Ghana and Togo hold each other in good faith.

In his response, Mr Bosompem expressed gratitude to the President for the honour done him and gave the assurance that he will work with his team to promote excellent relations between Ghana and Togo.
