Ghanaian second-tier side Bechem United are bracing themselves for arguably the biggest youth football competition in Italy dubbed Trofeo Rocco Nero which begins on 27 April.
The Bechem-based side leaves Accra on Thursday for the one-week tourney which takes place in Citta di Gradisca.
United are making their second appearance at a youth tournament in Italy.
They won the Trofeo Karol Wojtyla and Romeo and Juliet competitions last year.
The Chief Executive of Atlas Sports Management Oliver Arthur, the company which manages Bechem United, claims the tourney affords players an opportunity to exhibit their skills at a higher level.
"It is a great opportunity for these players to be seen by the rest of the world and exhibit the kind of stuff they are made of," Arthur told Ghanasoccernet.com
"Atlas Sports Management Company has been in this business for some time now we are confident Bechem United will come good in Ghana.
"Some of players are playing in Italy and elsewhere after participating in a similar competition and am more than confident that more will get their dream of playing for big European clubs."
The club has produced talents like Kofi Adjei who captains the Fiorentina's reserve side, Isaac Kofi of Genoa and Quincy Osei of FC Saturn.
The competition has featured youth clubs from Argentina , Brazil and other clubs in Europe .
Barcelona star Lionel Messi, Ryan Babel, Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez and Italy capatain Fabio Cannavaro all emerged from the competition.
Bechem United topped their zone 1B table after the first round of the League.
