The Glo top 4 competition enters its second day of matches today with leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko aiming to consolidate their position on the table when they travel down to Accra to pitch their strength against Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
The game promises to be a thriller as the Dansoman-based club embark on a mission to avenge the painful defeat they suffered at the hands of the Porcupine Warriors in the league last season.
Ahead of the match, club officials at a pre-match conference at the stadium yesterday played the mind game as both officials predicted a win for their respective clubs before the kickoff later this evening.
The Director of Operations of Kotoko, Jerry Asare, and Communications Director, Kwame Baah-Nuako sent a strong warning to Liberty to brace themselves for defeat as Kotoko will not leave Accra without the three maximum points.
He said the game would serve as a fitting dress rehearsal for their Confederation Cup duel against Al Merreikh of Sudan on Sunday.
But the Dansoman-based club believes in their ability to spell a miserable day for Kotoko as coach Nii Noi Thompson assured Liberty fans of nothing but victory .
The challenges ahead might seem impossible but the determined boys of Liberty are expected to muster the courage to deliver on the promise by their coach.
Lions on the other hand will be looking for their first victory in the tournament as they travel to Kumasi to play Arsenal.
With both teams coming into the game without any points it will be a do or die affair as both teams search for a point in the competition.
With a blend of youthful and some matured limbs like Sam Ayew Yeboah, Latif Abdul, Dan Yeboah and Emmanuel Osei Liberty could scare the Porcupine Warriors.
But they need more than sheer determination to rise above a strong presence of Eric Bekoe, Daniel Nii Adjei, Mark Sekyere and Kojo Poku.
